Political Tips: Congress, Ukraine, Israel
All eyes are on DC as Johnson talks Ukraine aid, and Schumer eviscerates Netanyahu
In exclusive comments to Politico, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson(R-LA) stated he expected the House to find a pathway to additional assistance for Ukraine while admitting he will need Democratic members to join him in pushing any bill forward.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said it was time for new elections in Israel while stating that Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, had “lost his way.” These comments prompted fierce blow back from Netanyahu’s ruling Likud party, which accused the Senator of treating Israel like a “Banana Republic.”
Ukrainian Commander in Chief, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, addressed Ukraine’s volunteer fighters:
"Looking at those queues, the realization sank in: the Russians would not be able to hold their planned victory parade in Kyiv. Not in three days, and not in three months. Never. They have made a mistake again, dragging themselves and the whole world into a terrible war that will certainly end in the defeat of the aggressor; the defeat of Russia.
I thank all the volunteer soldiers! It is with a heavy heart that I bow to the fallen volunteer soldiers. We will not forgive the enemy for any death.
I also thank all future volunteer soldiers. I thank those who will join the army tomorrow, the day after tomorrow or in a month. I thank you for considering positions in the army, for looking for a position for yourself, for being concerned about how to join in the defence of Ukraine. We will do our best to find a place for each and every one of you that suits your skills, abilities and capabilities.
Remember that Ukraine will exist for long as there is someone to defend it."
