(Aaron, Craig, and Ryan laugh about Russian attempts at propaganda against the Legion.)
Kharkiv Media Center was the site of a frenzied scrum on Friday, July 8 as members of the press from across the globe gathered to have some words with one of Ukraine’s most enigmatic groups, the International Legion.
In the nearly five months since Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on foreign fighters to join in the fight against the fascist Russian war criminals, thousands of brave men and women answered the call. In doing so they etched themselves into the annals of history, as warriors for liberty and freedom, but their path has been a gauntlet as controversy and rumors swirled among the group since its inception.
Disgruntled dropouts and fictitious fabrications marred the true mission of the International Legion, but in being represented by three of their bravest, lies and myths were replaced with facts backing up a singular message: The word victory is now synonymous with Ukraine.
Represented by two heroes from the United States and one from England at the podium, with a Dutch-Italian soldier and the Legion’s Australian-infused Communications Director also present.

(Aaron reflects on his service.)
A contagious ebullience swept the room as Aaron began the question and answer session by comparing his decision to fight on behalf of Ukraine as the same as coming to fight, “against the Holocaust.”
Eventually, through several rounds of questions, a common thread was established. The men took turns espousing their heartfelt praise for the Ukrainian people and their quest for independence, along with deep, unabiding hate for the genocidal Russian nation.
Toward the end of the availability, only one negative comment was heard, and it was one shared by each of the legionnaires. They needed more weapons; heavier weapons to be sent to the frontlines. This request was accompanied by a recounting of how the arrival of the M-777 saved the lives of dozens of troops.
(Craig shows off his “lucky” shrapnel.)
Soon it was time for the five ILD members to return to the line of fire, but not before leaving all who spent time with them to understand they represented the best of humanity, they represented a victorious Ukraine.

Great story! Do these guys have proper personal equipment? Is @harri_esti going to get them proper vests? Can you do a story on the need for proper personal equipment for these soldiers?
I worry greatly about these brave fighters being used as examples if captured. Similarly, being used in exchange for Russian war criminals. They are very vulnerable given their countries of origin.
