Ukraine 1919 All Over Again: CIA Warns of Bare-Handed Fight

The CIA Director’s chilling words—“They’ll fight with bare hands”—revive the raw spirit of 1919, when Ukrainians bled for peace and freedom.

On March 25, CIA Director John Ratcliffe told the United States Senate Intelligence Committee, “I'm convinced that they will fight with their bare hands if they have to, if they don't have terms that are acceptable to an enduring peace.”

The footage above shows the peasant army under the control of *controversial Ukrainian insurgent Nestor Makhno, who at one point fought the Soviet Russian Bolsheviks, carrying out campaigns across southern Ukraine in 1919. In the clip, you can see that the Ukrainians were occasionally using only their bare hands.

*Makhno was an anarcho-communist who waged battles against multiple groups including the White Army, the aforementioned Bolsheviks, and the Central Powers.

In case you missed it, here is an exclusive post explaining how Russians are carrying out genetic tests on Ukrainian children.
